Daily Budget

I believe that I will spend about $150-$300 a day. The reason I believe this is because of the meals which could be from a Mcdonalds to a fancy restaurant like the Keg, so I have to be prepared to pay for expensive meals. Also, the cost to get around, I will buy a bus pass so I can save a bit there, but bring some money for a taxi in case there are no buses or I missed the one I was supposed to go on. Since I will be doing a lot of activities, it will be important that I bring a big sum of money so that I can pay for what I need and have a little extra just in case of emergency.

The 5 'A' Approach to Travel and Tourism

The 5 'A's to Travel and Tourism are:

Access
Amenities
Activities
Attractions
Accommodation

Access-
I will be getting their by plane. The way I will be getting around when I am there is by Bus, Taxi, or Train. I will be using a bus because if I buy a bus pass, I will be able to save a bit of money. If their are no buses in the area, I will call for a taxi to take me where I want. If I want to travel long distances, I will take train because it will cost less instead of renting a car, (gas is expensive!) or calling for a taxi (will cost a ton for long travels).

Amenities-
Some Amenities I have are-
- If I need to get a shot, I want to see it coming out of a package to make sure its clean.
- Warm bed, bug free.
- Clean drinking and showering water.
- Room to myself.
- To have my cell phone on me and working at all times.
- Need to know whats in my food, in-case I don't like it. (Don't like sauces of almost any kind.)

Activities-
In New Zealand, there is a limitless amount of things to do, from relaxing on the beach to rolling down a hill in a giant ball. A list of some activities are Zorbing (rolling down a hill in a giant ball), Sky Diving, Skiing/Snowboarding, Bungee Jumping. There is also relaxing things to do such as chilling on the 90 mile beach, going tax free shopping, and hiking up mountains.

Zorbing- I will book online, becasue I found a deal for $45 to go by myself.
Sky Diving- Is about $300 for 12,000 ft.
Bungee Jumping- Will be $150 to bungee off the Auckland Bridge.

Attractions-
There are many attractions in New Zealand such as the Nighty Mile Beach, see the beautiful Mt. Cook, go to museums to see artwork and historical objects, see the Cap Reinga, or go to beaches such as the Nighty Mile Beach.

Accommodation-
I will stay at hotels because I would rather not share a room with other people. I will stay at one hotel throughout my stay to save a bit of money, instead of paying for a lot of hotels for 1 night, which is more money than staying for longer at one hotel.

Travel Barriers

Some Travel Barriers for me would be:
- Traveling by myself.
- I have save up a crap load of money.
- Wont see family for a while.
- Afraid I will get sick and don't know whats wrong with me.
- Food I might miss that's not might not be in New Zealand.

Some Travel Barriers for others would be:
- Costs a lot to live daily their, especially if you have more than 2 people.
- Might not like the food.
- Different animals that you may not like but the locals love.
- Possible allergies that you may have not know about.

Travel Motivators

Some Travel Motivators for me would be:
- To get from this small town and see the world.
- To be able to go skiing and surfing in the same day.
- Different food to taste.
- To be able to do exciting things like bungee jumping and sky diving.
- See the different lifestyle people live in and how different it is from Canada.

Some Travel Motivators for others would be:
- The weather there is fairly well all year.
- People who like adrenaline activities would go crazy with all the things to do.
- New animals to discover and possibly eat.
- Sort of cheap to fly there.

Climate During Visit

The weather in New Zealand is dependent on where you stay. For me, I will be staying in the north part of the Islands, which is where most of the warm weather is. New Zealand is moderately wet for all year, but can change and probably will. Sunshine will be visible for an average 6-7 hours, and since I will be in the north part, there will probably be more than that on average. New Zealand has healthy weather and is often rare to see snow in the northern parts. When I am there, I am thinking that it will be sunny most of the time, but probably have some days that are rainy and not very 'choice'.
                                                                                (means very good)

Culture Shock

In the last Census taken in New Zealand, about 55.6% of the people are Christians, so beware if you do not take kindly to Christians, because with over half the population that religion, you are bound to run into one. English is the main language spoken in New Zealand, and te reo Maori ( Language of the Maori, the original residents of the island) was sort of washed away by European settlers, but is now an official language of New Zealand and is spoken by about 5% of the people. So people also us slang, such as Bob your uncle, which means basically means there ya go-that's all there is to it. If you wish to study some of these slang words go http://www.chemistry.co.nz/kiwi.htm and start studying.

Arrival Accommodation

When I arrive at Auckland, New Zealand, I will have booked a room at the Formule 1 Auckland Airport Hotel, which is only a 3 minutes from the airport. It is 1106 $NZ for 14 nights in a Standard Double Room. It has Air Conditioning, Desk, Heating, Carpeted Floor, Shower, Hairdryer, Toilet, Bathroom, Satellite TV, LCD /Plasma /Flat-screen TV, and Alarm Clock. It is located on 2 Leonard Isitt Drive, Auckland Airport, 2022 Auckland.
