Health and Saftey
Before you go you should ask your doctor for a International Certificate of Vaccination; (or the yellow booklet) this shows what vaccinations you've had. Any medications you bring should be in the original, clearly labelled containers. You should also have signed and dated letter from your physician clearly describing your medical conditions and medications. Another thing you should check before you go is, if your health insurance covers medical expenses incurred overseas. If it doesn't, you should find advice about if they make payments directly to providers or reimburse you later on. New Zealand has no vaccination requirements, but the the World Health Organization recommends all travelers be covered for diphtheria, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, polio, and Hepatitis B no matter where your going. Some things you should bring just in case something happens is some Tylenol, aspirin, antibiotics, bandages, sun block, steroid cream or cortisone for poison ivy, etc.
